A Four Year Journey

The community I'm a part of reads through the bible every four years.  This will be my first time on this journey, so I've decided to blog my reading and studying.  I hope that this will be a fun and effective way to record and remember what I learn over the next four years.  I absolutely expect to be changed by this endeavor.  I have encountered the bible as a truly transformative text (hence the blog name), and I look forward to what I will learn over the course of this adventure.

So here's the deal. It's a chapter a day, six days a week, Sundays off. We start in Genesis.  The schedule, as well as a daily meditation on a part of the text are here: Daily Med

I'll be reading and studying primarily out of the ESV Study Bible.  I've found it to be a helpful "word for word" translation of the bible, striving to strike as close as possible to the literal translation of the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.

I may not post every day, but my goal is to post at least three times a week.

I hope that you journey with me.  One chapter a day doesn't take long, and the amount of extra study you do surrounding the text is up to you!  If you miss one, you've got Sunday to play catch-up, if you fall far behind, just pick it back up!  I hope that you find transformation in the text of scripture.
